Devlog 7 - Pixel Arts + Pixel Impostor

Pixel Arts

I like doing smaller pixel art because I enjoy simplifying things to the smallest version possible, so doing 32x32 was a bit of a challenge for me.

Object One

This is the necklace of a character named Kismet. I'm imagining most of these as power-ups in the game, since Kismet is a warlock, meaning they made a deal with a powerful being, this would give some form of buff, but come with a draw back, perhaps a vampirism effect that makes you lose hp but gain more when you hit attacks.

Object Two

This is Val's shield. Val was a cleric devoted to a demon, however, she was part of the church that worshipped an angel. This shield bears the symbol of the demon-worshipping cult in that church, a slight variation on the heron symbol of the main church. It's a shield so it would grant some form of damage reduction or extra health, but as it's part of the demon cult, it would also have some dark effect, like draining the life of opponents you're near.

Object Three

This is Nic0's head. She's a robotic dullahan with a television head.  Head breaks easily, and without it she's blind. When she has it thought, she can cast very high damaging spells. I imagine this power-up would give your character a tv head and all of your attacks would do extra damage, visually displayed by a spell effect of a random color coming from your character's attack. However, the tv head is fragile and breaks after just 2-3 hits.

Pixel Impostor

For the pixel imposter, I choose Terraria as the game because I love it oh so much. Some things about the character I chose made it difficult and I'm still not sure I'm happy with them, mainly the horn. This character has horns as he is a tiefling, but I couldn't get them to look right in this scale. Also, he has no sclera which makes it a bit harder to tell that his eyes are eyes, but I think that would be less of a problem if he was animated and blinked.
